Positive Active Minds – The Power of User Led sessions

Before I joined Positive Active Minds, I usually had to follow what other people decided, and I didn’t feel like my ideas or opinions mattered. Sometimes I felt like I couldn’t really make a difference, and I wasn’t very confident about trying to share my thoughts.

Since being part of Positive Active Minds, I feel really different. The groups are user-led, which means we get to help plan and choose the activities we do. I can say what I like, what I want to try, and even help suggest new ideas for the group. It makes me feel important and listened to, because the staff really care about what we want.

Being involved in planning the activities has made me feel more confident and proud of myself. I enjoy helping make decisions, and it feels good to see other children enjoying something that I suggested. I also feel more responsible and trusted, which makes me want to take part even more.

I feel empowered because I know my opinions matter, and I can make a difference in the group. Positive Active Minds has helped me feel like I belong, that my voice counts, and that I can be part of something that is fun, creative, and supportive for everyone.
