Climb 4 excited to announce that nominations are now open for the very first NEL SEND Awards!
The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Awards celebrate the incredible individuals and often overlooked heroes in our community—children and young people striving to reach their goals, alongside the dedicated people who support and encourage them every step of the way.
Director of Children’s Services at North East Lincolnshire Council, Ann-Marie Matson, said the awards are an opportunity to recognise children and adults who go above and beyond.
“These awards are such a fantastic initiative – every year I’m blown away by the incredible individuals living and working in North East Lincolnshire.
“Every year we hear some truly inspiring stories of young people who have overcome such tough challenges to persevere and achieve their dreams.
“Alongside those stories, we meet the people who have supported them – whether they be social workers, foster carers or family members – people who have gone above and beyond to sponsor success.
“These awards are an opportunity to get recognition for those SEND Stars. Please get your submissions in – I can’t wait to read them!”

The awards include both Children’s and Organisational categories, and we’re already looking forward to considering which members of the Climb 4 community we can put forward. In the meantime, we would greatly appreciate your nominations in any of the following categories:
- Inspiring Teacher Award
- Education Setting Award
- Special Recognition Award
- SEND-Friendly Business or Organisation
