NELC SEND Awards

And the nominations just keep coming in! We received not just one, but five(!) fantastic emails this week from North East Lincolnshire Council’s SEND Awards board in recognition of the work Climb 4 continues to do for families across the region, and to say we were bowled over was an understatement! The work alone is always reward enough for us, but to receive this kind of acknowledgment really is the icing on the cake.

The SEND Awards is a fantastic way of celebrating the local area’s amazing children and young people with SEND and the unsung heroes who support them and make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs and their families. This is a chance to cheer on achievements both big and small, people doing extraordinary things and show what can be achieved when we help each other and work together.

We were nominated a total of five times in the following category: SEND Friendly Business or Organisation – For a business or organisation who has provided a great service and been inclusive and welcoming to those with SEND and their families.

Here’s what some of the nomination entries had to say: “For being a supportive company, enabling people from babies, children, teenagers, families and adults to access valuable opportunities which raise aspirations and confidences, within our local community.”

“Climb 4 deserve recognition because of the holistic role they play in providing a range of activities for children with Special needs and disabilities. Not only do they offer bespoke Education out of school packages for individual children, they also provide dedicated, supported group work, workshops, after school and holiday clubs that are inclusive. They also support the family by providing mental health support. Climb 4 offer an all round package and are a one stop shop for children, young people and families with SEND/SEMH children and young people. Highly recommended.”

“They really understand the needs of SEND learners. Their communication with parents is excellent and they go above and beyond to engage children in alternative provisions or on EOTAS packages.”

“They do extensive work with people around the local area with SEND/SEMH needs. Fantastic Works!”

A nomination was also received for our Managing Director Sarah in the same category – “She organises so many things to not only support, educate but also inspire young people and families”

And although we didn’t win the award this time, receiving a huge five nominations and such wonderful words of encouragement and recognition is something we’re incredibly proud of and wanted to share with our wonderful participants, young people and families.
